The Stage 32 Videos: Film Music

Harry Potter re-Score video - from ScoreCraft Academy - w/ Michael Whittaker. Michael Whittaker sent this video and many helpful scores to learn from and complete this project. There were a lot of Assets for this class. Scored within Dorico Pro (5.1), the major scenes were identified, then written within the scoring program. Most went smoothly. The Water scene was great to write for !! Changing a few sounds and other musical ideas, it was enjoyable to make this part more engaging, as the clip moves forward into other attempts to kill and distract Harry Potter and the (Wizard). The original Ending was nice, though I felt something was missing. Looking into the Assets and previous actual scores, I was able to make the ending more complete from tension to release and the light and wind flows between the two, as the scene ends.

From October 2025 class learning from Michael Whittaker ( ScoreCraft Academy), Blade Runner (from 2017 ) was one of the videos to score and create a HYBRID type TRAILER project. Sounds from Apple / Logic Pro and a few other libraries really worked well. I used a broken drum sound under the last drum part. I was trying to emulate the same rhythm, though decided to make a different rhythm. It's really hard to hear, though does add some tension via frequency, rather than rhythm. There may be some Tension with the two rhythms, but not too much. The other last min. changes was adding light Strings in the middle, since the other sounds were a little light. The Strings added a little more depth, after tweaking the EQ and adding my fav. plugin on some instruments - PHAT FX. It does wanders adding a lot of diff. sound shapes for this type of Genre (and others). I learned about it from KARRA, a well known singer on YouTube. She uses it on many of her vocals, if memory serves well.

My sonic world usually blends orchestral textures with modern electronic elements (I’m a big fan of Hisham Nazih’s style). I mainly work with Cubase for scoring and Logic Pro for composition, ensuring a high-quality, cinematic sound for every frame. I’m always looking for new stories to tell through music. This track was created as a short detective story lasting two and a half minutes. It aims to convey the tension of a pursuit, moments of hidden observation, investigation, and the emptiness within the main character. The music was originally composed for a video sequence, but later I decided to present it as a standalone piece with its own cover art. The track combines orchestral elements, electronic textures, and dynamic percussion, creating an atmosphere of intrigue and drama. I’d be glad to hear your comments and feedback.
